半島電視台(Al Jazeera)網站報導，根據美國聯邦調查局(FBI)最新數據，2015年美國境內針對穆斯林的仇恨犯罪案件數遽增67%，來到2001年911攻擊事件後的最高點。
據FBI在14日發布的仇恨犯罪報告，整體而言，在5,850件獲報案件中，有57%是出於種族與族裔動機，20%則是與宗教偏見有關。
2015年共記錄到257起反穆斯林仇恨犯罪事件，比前一年的154件要多，並僅次於2001年911事件後的案件數，當時共獲報481起反穆斯林事件。
FBI表示，儘管反穆斯林仇恨犯罪案件數大幅增加，猶太人仍是美國境內宗教性質仇恨犯罪最常被鎖定的目標，佔獲報件數的53%。
FBI報告中也列出1,053起因性傾向產生的仇恨犯罪，其中19%鎖定男同志。
在發言充滿爭議性的川普(Donald Trump)上週贏得總統大選之後，此時美國種族與宗教間的緊張程度已經升高。
